Marlboro Ciggarettes-
Denotation- a country man(cowboy) smoking marlboro ciggarettes, wearing chaps, denim, country background and a cowboy hat
Conatation- manly, macho theme, you will look cool and good looking if you smoke this type of ciggarette.

Fitch Model-
Denotation- mans torso with low jeans on, very buff mans torso with the background as mountians and rocks
Conotation- means if you wear the calogne you will look hot, girls will want you and will be all over you, and you will have extremely attractive body if you buy this calogne.

Marlboro-
Denotation- trees, there is snow, tombstones, a horse
Conotation- it means if you smoke these ciggarettes you will end up in the grave and you will not look so cool anymore

Swastika: A Misappropriated Symbol

Questions:

1)Swastika means life, powerful and strong to me.
2)The word swastika is misappropriated because Hitler distorted its meaning to millions of people. He ment it in a way that they are often surprised to see the swastika as part of the Falun, the symbol of Falun Dafa.
3) Some of the meanings of Swastika in Eastern cultures, the swastika is a symbol of Buddha. In China, the swastika symbol embodies the concepts of eternity, infinity and the universe.
4)Today Swastika means basically the same thing, but most people take it as a bad thing, and something that people take to shame or offence because Hitler twisted the meaning of the symbol

Spoof #3

This Spoof is saying that women who resemble a toothpick is sexy and it is the newest thing, even if it means serious health issues and problems for the near furture. It is mainly focusing on young girls and women aged from anywhere from twelve to twenty.

Spoof #2

This is a spoof saying that the cuban rum tastes so good, yet there is a picture of a guy hanging over a toilet. This is supposed to mean it may taste good in the process of drinking it, but if you drink too much of it you may end up barfing, hence the picture of the man by the toilet.

Spoof #1

This is a spoof saying " Don't you want to look cool?" meaning if you smoke you will be 'cool'. But really by smoking you can get many different sorts of cancers, health problems and even a result as dying. Along with effects such as unhealth lungs, and bad teeth.

Steven Harper Spoof

Steven Harper recently became overweight, and had a sex change. He is seen here with Paris Hilton, one of his so called "buddies". They are supposedly going clubbing next weekend to get Steven loosened up as a girl. In all parties everyone is making a nice effort to fit Harper in as the same person inside, just a different outside.

My Summer Reflection

The beginning of the summer I was mostly at my cottages and at my friends’ cottages. We went swimming and tanning a lot. My sister Patricia and my niece Jamie came back from New Zealand to visit for the summer, she left in November and she is staying there for another year, she will be staying here to visit until the end of summer. I slept for a lot of the summer, which was well worth the sleeping in part.I went shopping a lot as well, although I was supposed to get a job at the beginning of summer- I never got around to it. I’m going to try to get a job early this week. I bought lots of summer clothes and my sister bought me a pair of UGG boots, I’m so exited to wear them. I went white water rafting with my family and my cousins and it was really fun. I went cliff jumping as well which was pretty brave of me because I am terrified of heights. I also went to wonderland and the exhibition with my cousins and friends and shared amazing memories.Later on in the summer I was always going to the beaches for the swimming pool and just enjoying my time that I had off. I met lots of new people that I still talk to today and I went to a couple all ages’ clubs with my best friends and had a great time there, and I went white water rafting as well which was pretty fun. The best thing that I did this summer was go to New York City with my mom and step dad. There was lots of shopping to do and my cousin showed me around New Jersey. I bought lots of purses 2 of my favourite were my D & G.I still have my boyfriend, it’s been about three weeks since were dating and I’ve been with him for lots of the summer. Near the end of the summer I was still going up to my cottages and having sleepovers and I have lots of memories from this summer, I almost even barfed on my parents, but thankfully my friend took care of me.My worst memory this summer was on this Monday because I had to get everything ready for school, because I believe this summer was too short and school came too soon. I can’t wait till next summer and hopefully it will be the same or better.
My goals for this up comming year is to get at least seventy-five percent in all my courses. Another goal i have this year is to get my first job so i can save up for a cuba trip in the near future, and for shopping sprees.

1. McLuhan’s career was to understand the effects of technology and how it related to popular culture, and how this affected man kind and their relationships with one another in communities.2. His contribution to the “Electronic Age” was the leading prophet.3. The electronic age was a period of time where new technology was being thought out and some being made.4. McLuhan’s probe was the Medium is the message.5. The probe was a way to shape and control humans action.6. An extension of the human body means how an individual encountering with relationships affects one another.7. Global Village happened in the 1960’s, and it was the new social organization8. I believe Mcluhan meant by that quote is simply that there are extensions to our feelings, senses, body’s and minds.

To create this picture I used a program called Adobe Photoshop. The tools I used were the elliptical marquee tool, the move tool, the lasso tool, the zoom tool, the rotating tool, and the magnetic lasso tool.
I discovered how to use a lasso, and it was very useful during the making of this picture.

This is a horrific event that happened September 11, 2001 six years ago. This was a planned terrorist attack by Islamic people who were involved with Alqaeda. It was an attack on the United States. Nineteen terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. Two of the planes hit the Twin Towers in New York City.I still remember the terrified voice of my mother when she was telling me about the news when she got home. It all started with my mother and how she found out the news. She heard the news a lot faster then most people in Canada because she works with the government. She called my elementary school and told them to tell me to start heading home at that moment. She wanted me to get home so she could meet me there, just in case something was to occur here in Toronto, Ontario she wanted to be with me. At that point I had no idea what was going on but I listened to my mother and headed home. When I arrived home she called the house once again and told me she was about fifteen minutes away. When she arrived home she explained to me what was going on and immediately I wanted her to call my step aunt to ask her if she was alright, because she lives in New Jersey about forty minutes away from Manhattan. She was fine but her husband at the time was actually in the city. Thankfully he was fine, but some of the people he knew were actually in the towers and didn’t survive.I believe war is not justified because nothing is being solved, people are just dying and it is not right. The Christian teachings tell us to love one another, and war is the wrong answer. I hope everyone has learned to respect every moment of their lives, especially after hearing about this horrible event.

Stereotypes: A generalized assumption about a whole group of people based on inadequate or oversimplified facts.
1) It is easy to think in terms of stereotypes because most of the television, media, music and just our general understanding of what people who do certain jobs look like.2) Stereotyping causes a lot of harm to an entire group of people because you generalize and assume that’s what they look like, and that isn’t good because a hair stylist for example just might be a Spanish straight male and not an Italian woman.

D) Evaluate and write a summary of how each need is satisfied in your own personal life. Be conscious of how you can identify these areas in your behaviour.Belonging in my personal life is satisfied by my whole family and friends make me feel comfortable in all situations and always try to make me involved in everything, just as I do to them. Power is satisfied in my life by telling my dog to do tricks, and I don’t have much power in my life but when I am older I will have my children, and also if I become a teacher I will have power of the children- but not their behaviour. Saying what I want and believing in what ever I want is my freedom in my life. Fun is satisfied in my life by enjoying spending time with my friends, my boyfriend, my extended family and my soccer team. Survival is satisfied in my life by eating right, and enjoying my life.

Macromedia Flash Assignment

Part 1
1) Animation- a display of sequence images of 2D artwork or model positions to create an illusion of movement.
2) The differences of a shape and a motion tween are that the shape is just a single motion and a tween is everything in between- with many shapes. The similarities is that they both dealing with macromedia flash, and are both key things to create animation.
3) Tween- means everything in between the first and the last image or position.
4) The property window lets you see and edit the properties that apply to the selected element.
5) The alpha effect refers to the increased nucleophilicity of a molecule due to the presence of an adjacent (alpha) atom with non-bonding electrons
6) Advantages in using layers in flash are that you can overlap objects and it makes a very interesting effect.
7) SWF is a compressed and un-editable vector graphics format used in Flash applications while FLA is Can be used with any machine that has the commercial Macromedia Flash editor
8) You first go to layers and add another, then rename it by making it a key frame.
